Now Foods Neptune Krill OilPromoted as a health product to help joint support, maintain healthy blood lipid levels already within normal range and even help with healthy feminine balance, Now Foods Neptune Krill Oil is our next product up for review. This product contains a double-strength formula which is a pleasant upgrade from their regular 500mg krill oil product. But is doubling the dosage enough to make this a successful product? When reviewing this product, we were pleased to see a price tag that suggests quality – not cheap, but definitely affordable. We appreciated that this product is formulated with Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) as it is backed by a clinical study. However, it is unclear to us if this double-strength formula will actually be effective. With 1000mg of krill oil, Now Foods has manufactured a product that contains half of the dose of our Editor’s Choice. Additionally, the amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids, namely EPA and DHA, are also lower than other products on the market. These are the compounds that are responsible for major health benefits. While the manufacturer suggests taking 1 to 3 softgels per day, we’re still unconvinced that the daily dosage would be enough for someone to experience the optimal health benefits associated with krill oil. If consumers would like to try this product, they should be aware that the return policy only covers unopened bottles and only for 30 days. Daily Nutra Neptune Krill OilDaily Nutra Neptune Krill Oil claims to be an effective krill oil supplement that supports the heart, brain and joints. It is certified by Friends of the Sea which is a project of the World Sustainability Organization. The dose contained is 1000mg of krill oil which is the same amount found in many brands but still half the amount found in our Editor’s Choice product. As the daily dose is not very high, it is not surprising the Omega-3 fatty acids found in this product are low side as well. The multitude of studies done of the plethora of health benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids focus on the amount of EPA and DHA. This leaves us wondering how beneficial this product can be. Additionally, there is only 100mcg of Astaxanthin which will affect the antioxidant benefits of this product. One aspect to look out for is the inclusion of sorbitol and ethyl vanillin in order to improve the fishy taste of this krill oil. Unfortunately, sorbitol can cause digestive distress in many individuals. We did like that this product comes with a money-back guarantee, especially as there was a real mix of customer reviews.
